How do quilts compare on a scale of warmth? Melbourne Winters are cold!

We have personally never had to compare them for feel. We have always been just fine with microfiber quilts, since they wash well, are lighter than woolen quilts and our family are generally quite warm sleepers.

Woolen quilts will be quite a lot warmer than microfiber, and down quilts will be very warm, comfortable and lighter in weight than wool. However, neither of these are as easy to wash as microfiber.

Whatever you end up buying, if it is not warm enough you could get yourself a polar fleece blanket or throw to use on top of your quilt for extra warmth. It’s easy enough to remove on warmer nights, and you can even use it if you’re up late watching TV in the lounge. (This is our preference :O) )
